The winner is…

The Winner of the “Two-Faced Bitches” prompt is Ora and their piece “Stop Punishing Eve for Adam’s Misconduct.”

I like this piece because it is engaging, relatable, and provides a strong female role model. The opening line is incredible and powerful. The piece opens with a great line and proceeds to only get better as I read on.

“My romantic energy’s expensive,
and I already know they can’t handle the check.”

I want to use that line on someone I know someday. You can tell a line is good when it inspires someone to use it in real life. And then it becomes alive and begins to become a catchphrase. Then it will become famous.

“After all, no man has a god in him,
and haven’t you heard?
I’m spiritual now,
sitting in my own holy space
tending to my own unholy pleasures,
not needing anyone else to taste heaven with
when I’ve become so good at tasting heaven alone.”

I want to be in that holy space. The kind where, like you said, “Not needing anyone else to taste heaven with
when I’ve become so good at tasting heaven alone.” I want to feel heaven and taste happiness without the need for anyone else. That line resonated with me to my core.

This was a very strong poem. I absolutely loved it. It stood out to me upon my first read. I just kept coming back to it. The picture couldn’t be more perfect. I love everything about this piece. It makes me strive to be a better person, stronger, more reserved, and wise. Well done.

Your name will be put in the hat for the final draw in December for the big advertising prize. Good luck and thanks for submitting such a superb piece!
