A poem

After you left the roses alone,
they bloomed magnificently.
Beautiful pinks, reds, and blush colored petals.
Oozing that sweet red scent that only roses produce.
It even made the bees drunk with love.
Just like those roses,
the moment I stopped trying to change you,
was the time in which our relationship bloomed.
Through all of the angst,
through all of the tears and fights.
We have survived it all, together.
We have come out on the other side better for it.
You are my best friend.
And like those roses, I admire your beauty and strength.
You stood by Dad till his bitter end.
You became frozen in time.
Your heart never beat again.
You showed me your backbone that I could never have.
You trudged onward despite all odds.
You still kept your zest for life.
And I still have not figured out your secret.
I wish I could be half as strong as you.
I love you.
Always have,
Always will.

I have a few books published on Amazon. My newest book is called, “The Firestorm of Tears.”
