A Rebel’s Prompt:

Bringing Life into Death

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and caldron bubble. Cool it with a baboon’s blood, Then the charm is firm and good. ~Shakespeare, Macbeth.

I love necromancy, conjure in general, and anything to do with the dead, especially cemeteries. So it’s the Month of May, and life is restarting again in nature. So why not whip out our trusty pens, and conjure up a little writing spell to make the dead reanimate?

Necromancy has fascinated people since loved ones started dying. The pull to bring back dead loved ones is in everyone's heart, but not everyone has the guts to try it. Some for moral reasons, some for religious reasons, some don’t believe in an afterlife, nor soul, and some don’t have the mysteries or knowledge to do it right.

Well, that’s the beauty of imagination, anything is possible. So for this prompt, I would like you to reanimate the dead. It could look like a Frankenstein story or a Witchdoctor’s magic circle. You could go Necromancy, Science, a God’s blessing turned sour, divine, or both, Aliens interference, or a zombie approach with a virus that reanimates the dead.

You can take this to many places, please don’t limit yourself to my suggestions. The only requirement is that it has to deal with the dead and giving them life. It can be scary, teach a moral lesson, it could depict a perfect day with the dead loved one reanimated, or it could be a tear-jerker.

No necrophilia!!! I do not want anyone fucking the dead corpse in the story. A kiss to a dead loved one reanimated is fine, but no corpse fucking. lol

The subtitle should look like this:

A Rebel’s Prompt: Bringing Life into Death.

You may write in any format you wish. The word requirements are as follows:

No less than 50 words no more than 3,000 words.

Good luck.
